We installed the millwork in NC State’s new student union, including the giant suspended wolf feature wall. The wolf design was featured in AWI’s Design Solutions as one of the top projects of the year in 2016.
Challenges and Solutions
Our team loves to be tasked with doing something new and unseen, so they jumped at the opportunity to tackle this project. The entire metal structure was scaffolded for the install. The biggest challenge was making sure the metal was perfectly plumb and straight. We had to work hand in hand with the metal subcontractor before we could start installing the wood slats. We also had to come up with the custom bolt system to attach the slats. Once our team got the hang of it, they flew through it!
