Florida State Senate Renovation
After a successful renovation of their house chambers, the senate was ready to give their own chambers a facelift. We were responsible for installing all wall paneling, radius crown, the rostrum wall, door casing, and senate chamber diewalls.
Challenges and Solutions
This project was on a fixed schedule. The renovation had to be complete by the time the new president of the senate was sworn in. One of the toughest parts was that the radius crown was almost four feet tall and came in one piece. We had to use a hoist to lift the crown in the building, take it apart to cut miters on it, and then piece it back together for install. We got the chance to use an old school miter box because none of our saws were big enough! We got it done just in time. It was a fun project and we were thankful to have been able to be a part of it.
